Where Art, Craft, and Tradition Come Together

Woodenware

All of our woodenware is made right from the log in a traditional manner using traditinal tools and finishes. All items are finished with mineral oil for a foodsafe finish that can easily be renewed by the end user. many of the items are made from wild cherry as these trees arre often shallow rooted and get tipped out in windstorms. These are often young trees to small to saw so I turn them into bowl wood! Most items are worked green and then dried before finishing up.

Here is an example of the many rolling pins I turn each year. This one is cherry with a bit of curl in it that just shows in the picture. These are around $25 and come in a variety of sizes.
